Crash on Deerfoot Trail under investigation

Emergency crews are on the scene of a crash on Deerfoot Trail that has closed the northbound lanes of the highway near 16 Avenue NE

Officials say the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway.

As of 7:30 a.m., police closed a portion of Deerfoot Trail due to the collision.

According to police, a truck overturned at the scene and one person was taken to hospital.

It is not known how long the highway will remain closed.
