Jason Kelce is lamenting the Penn State phone incident with a fan in which he used swear words

Former All-Pro center Jason Kelce used his popular podcast on Wednesday to express his regret over an altercation over the weekend on Penn State’s campus.

This was the case in one incident captured on videoKelce responded to a heckler who called his brother Travis a homophobic slur he grabbed the heckler’s phone and knocked him to the ground.

In the latest episode of their Podcast ‘New Heights’Jason called it “a really stupid situation” that quickly got out of hand.

“My response gave him the time of day and it also publicized the situation,” he said. “I know now that I shouldn’t have done it because there’s now a video of me saying that word and him saying that word, and that’s not good for anyone.”

Kelce was in State College, Pennsylvania, for ESPN’s “College GameDay” on Saturday and was interacting with fans when someone used a homophobic slur in reference to his brother dating Taylor Swift.

Penn State University Police and Public Safety is investigate the incident.

Kelce admitted his actions “crossed the line” when he grabbed the fan’s phone and pinned it to the ground. On the video, Kelce could be heard saying, “Who is the (expletive) now?”

He said repeating the slur was a mistake because “it only perpetuates more hatred.”

On the podcast, Brother Travis struck an understanding tone.

“You responded in a way that defended your family, and you may have used words you regret,” he said. “And that’s a situation that you just have to learn from and own. I think you owning it and talking about it shows how sincere you are to a lot of people in this world. … You don’t choose hate, that’s just not who you are. I love you brother, I think you said that perfectly.”
