STEYA announces its first EP, ‘Dopamine’ – News

STEYA has announced its debut EP, ‘Dopamine’, scheduled for release on July 12 via Marcel Fengler’s influential band. IMF label.

The result of two years of studio work – and 20 years devoted to techno – “Dopamine” meanders through five energetic tracks. Its self-titled debut track functions as a gritty tribal number with tempo changes throughout, while “Fast Life” leads firmly with its bass line, with a punchy synthesizer melody creating interesting movement. On the B-side, “Things You Never Said” centers on rolling grooves and warm synths.

Apart from its original tracks, STEYA welcomes two remixers respectively on sides A and B, thus continuing of the IMF philosophy of associating a “new generation” artist with heavyweights of the genre. Swedish producer Hertz, a favorite of the Belgian artist, reworks the title track to give it even more energy while Rolando remixes “Things You Never Said” creating a deep and simmering techno soundscape.

“It’s a great honor to release my first EP on such an incredible label as IMF, which is very close to my heart,” explains STEYA. “I put my heart and soul into this project. It showcases the artistic direction I have developed over the past few years and is an important step in my journey as an artist.

“Having experienced many of his superb DJ sets, it’s wonderful to see STEYA also thriving as a producer,” adds label director Marcel Fengler. “What really excites me is witnessing his continued growth, always fueled by his deep passion for music. So I’m thrilled to release STEYA’s debut EP on IMFfeaturing three original dancefloor anthems and two stellar remixes from Rolando and Hertz.
