Scifres, Sahrbeck and Andrews elected to the Cape Elizabeth Council

Scifres

Cape Elizabeth voters elected Elizabeth Scifres, John Sahrbeck and Andrew Swayze to the city council in a six-way race for three seats.

Scifres received 3,742 votes; Sahrbeck received 3,731 votes; Swayze received 3,181 votes; David Hughes received 2,149 votes; David Andres received 2,128 votes; and Council President Tim Reiniger, the only incumbent in the race, received 1,961 votes.

Meanwhile, Christopher Boniakowski, Peter Joy Engel and Lee Schroeder were elected to the three open seats on the school board, with no challengers.

Housing and preserving the city’s rural character were among the challenges the candidates identified for the city in the coming years, as well as finding a solution for the city’s aging school buildings.
