Man is shocked to discover the truth after finding dozens of creepy notes in his house

Sometimes the internet comes up with perfect little short stories that some of the greatest horror writers would be proud of.

That was exactly the direction a Reddit thread seemed to be heading, after a user posted that he had encountered dozens of creepy notes around his house.

Reddit user @RBradbury1920 started the thread by explaining that he had seen a number of post-it notes left around his house and was concerned that a stalker might have broken in without his knowledge.

“On April 15, I found on my desk a yellow Post-it with writing that was not mine, reminding me of certain errands that I had to do, but which I had not told anyone about,” they said. -they write.

The Reddit user said it was thrown away and initially forgotten about.

Only a few days later, the person noticed more notes and checked their house for signs of a break-in.

At this point, they began installing a webcam to try to catch the intruders. However, after finding another note stating: “Our landlord won’t let me talk to you, but it’s important that we do.” »

At this point, the Redditor thought he could catch the intruder on the webcam. However, there was no footage – or whatever footage there was had been removed.

More and more notes were found, and that’s when Reddit put their issue online and asked for advice.

“Would contacting the police get me in trouble if they can’t determine an outside source for this? I just want to make sure I don’t waste anyone’s time. Should I consult my landlord? Those who live also in the complex? ” they wrote.

After hearing the story, people weighed in on the comments with their concerns, and some suggested that it might be a “mental” issue that the user needed help with.

One reader wrote: “Your landlord may leave notes inside your apartment, but they make no sense in the context in which you describe them. Chances are you write the notes yourself, but you forget. Do you use post-it notes as reminders in other areas of your life or work? Yes, it could be a mental health issue. You may be suffering from some sort of dissociative disorder.

After considering Redditors’ suggestions, @RBradbury1920 took stock and revealed that the source of the problem was a carbon monoxide leak in their home, which caused them to forget to leave the notes themselves. High levels of gas exposure can cause memory loss.

They wrote: “Thank you to everyone who sent suggestions and gave advice on how to do this – especially to those who recommended a CO detector… because when I plugged one into the bedroom , it showed a value of 100 ppm TL;DR: I had CO poisoning and I thought my landlord was stalking me.”
