The child was with his family at a Turkish restaurant in Dalston when a motorcyclist opened fire at 9.20pm on May 29. Three men, aged 37, 42 and 44, were also shot while sitting outside the restaurant. The men were taken to hospital and have since been released, the Metropolitan Police said.

A crucial line of investigation is the “potential link with organized criminal networks of Turkish origin”. No arrests have been made.

Detective Superintendent Tim Mustoe, the Met’s head of firearms, said: “The victim is still seriously injured, he is in intensive care and I hope his condition improves. »
