Elden Ring creator may well consider seamless cooperation for future games

Mod support with games is nothing new. A few months after the launch of Elden Ring, the community introduced a mod that has since become extremely popular thanks to seamless cooperation. The mod removed the game’s multiplayer restrictions in limited areas, allowing players to cooperate in the main game. The mod even gained popularity with the advent of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Naturally, players agree that while SoulsBorne’s conventional co-op system in Elden Ring is solid, a harmonious cooperative spices things up and makes it more fun.

And surprisingly, Hidetaka Miyazaki, president of FromSoftware also agrees with this. The president said the same thing in an interview with PC Gamer when asked what he thought of the mod.

Miyazaki says it’s not certain developers who oppose or want to downplay the importance of the project. He explains how the developers wanted co-op to be a casual system of showing up, defeating the boss, and then moving on. Miyazaki also claims to want explore other cooperation ideas in their future games, such as seamless cooperation, where players can drop in and out at any time.

Honestly, I don’t blame him. A look at the transparent co-op page on Nexus Mods will show you how widespread and popular the mod is. He currently sits at 1,700,000+ downloads, with over 11,000,000 views. That’s a pretty crazy number. Most players who have played and completed their various NG+ runs in Elden Ring download and play with this mod for those fun days.

I considered downloading and playing seamless co-op, but it never happened. That’s a story for another day. Let us know if you’ve played seamless co-op in Elden Ring in the comments below.
