Horror as woman ‘dragged from her car before being attacked and sexually assaulted by gang’

HORROR struck as a woman was dragged from her car before being attacked and sexually assaulted by a gang.

Six people have been arrested in Oxfordshire after the incident took place in Banbury on Tuesday evening, October 22.

Thames Valley Police said a black sedan had stopped to pick up a man on Boxhedge Road, near the roundabout on Belgrave Crescent.

At that point, a number of men and women reportedly pulled up in a white hatchback.

Officers said the gang followed the man to the location.

The group then allegedly dragged a woman from the car they were chasing, Thames Valley police said Wednesday afternoon.

Police said she was then repeatedly assaulted while also being touched inappropriate about her clothes.

They added that the group also threatened her.

While the man who got into the black car and another man went to defend the woman, they were then too attacked.

It is also believed that a number of weapons were used in the attack.

Six arrests were subsequently made, with three men and two women all detained by police.

All six of these suspects have been released on bail pending further investigation.

Detective Connie Palfreysaid: “This was a concerning incident and we have made a number of arrests as a result of this incident.

“We have thoroughly investigated this incident and pursued a number of lines of inquiry and we believe that the parties involved in this incident are known to each other, and as such we do not believe there is a threat to the wider public.

“We are aware that two men walked past and stopped at the scene to assist, and we are aware that a silver hatchback, a black station wagon, a red Mini and a white one VW polo or something similar also passed by.

“Additionally, a small blue SUV-style vehicle was honking its horn.

“We would like to ask all these motorists and the two men who stopped on foot to come forward.
