Layton Williams Hints at Cancellation of Bad Education

Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams thinks BBC comedy Bad Education is unlikely to return for another series.

The Jack Whitehall-created show returned in January for a fifth season, with former Class K pupils Stephen Carmichael (Williams) and Mitchell Harper (EastEnders star Charlie Wernham) now all adult and newly qualified teachers at the infamous Abbey Grove School.

In an exclusive interview with digital spythe actor who is currently entertaining audiences in London series Cabaret, has wondered whether Bad Education could return for a sixth series.

“I don’t know what I can say about it, but I will say it’s been a bad time,” he told us. “Sometimes all good things come to an end.

“We usually shoot in the summer. I’m a little busy, so you can probably connect the dots.”

The Everybody’s Talking About Jamie star explained that the cast are “just a bit busy” with other projects at the moment, including Williams who is currently playing host at the Kit Kat Club at London’s Playhouse Theater .

“I will look back so fondly on the memories of Bad Education,” he said. “I feel so lucky to have been able to revisit this show for a few years, put my own spin on it and run a business.

“I’ve directed a show or a musical in the West End, but I’ve never been a favorite when it comes to a TV show, so it was a big problem for me.”

“I was like, ‘Yeah, someone’s finally taking…’ – not even a bet on me – but I was just like, ‘You’ve got this, we’ve got your back, you can do this,'” he said. -he declares. added, reflecting on the responsibility he’s been given as the main character in season five.

Williams will appear in Cabaret for a strictly limited run of four months, alongside Heartstopper actress Rhea Norwood, who plays the iconic Sally Bowles. Their last performance takes place on September 21.
