Aaron Wan-Bissaka to be offered in part-exchange for Marc Guehi – Man United News And Transfer News

England’s clean sheet against Serbia in their Euro 24 opener yesterday owed much to the impressive defensive performance of Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.

It’s no open secret that United are in the market for at least one central defender this summer in a bid to strengthen that area of the pitch.

Guehi was named by the press from a shortlist including Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, Lille’s Leny Yoro and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

Meanwhile, reports have been circulating for some time that Aaron Wan-Bissaka is ready to leave Old Trafford in search of pastures new – or old – and that he favors a return to London.

This, according to Team discussionis a happy coincidence that could lead to a swap deal between the two players, with United ‘ready to offer Aaron Wan-Bissaka’ plus money to bring Guehi to Old Trafford.

“Wan-Bissaka… who joined United from Palace for £50m in 2019, is entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and TEAMtalk can confirm there have been no discussions over a new deal” , says the media.

“Making a swap deal for Guehi by offering Wan-Bissaka in part-exchange could prove an easier and cheaper deal than trying to sign Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton with the Merseyside side expecting £70m sterling for the central defender.”

The report notes that “(Palace director) Oliver Glasner is determined to keep (Guehi) at Selhurst Park, (but) returning Wan-Bissaka to Palace could help convince him to sell.” »

Teamtalk also claims that Guehi is ready for a new challenge and “would be willing to join Erik ten Hag’s team.”

Guehi’s reported price of £60million is not much lower than Branthwaite’s. United reportedly value Wan-Bissaka at €12m (around £10m), although his market value according to Transfermarkt stands at €20m (£17m).

Wan-Bissaka plus £40m for Guehi would therefore seem like the sort of deal United would consider.

However, to complicate matters, it was reported last week that Everton were interested in another United defender, Victor Lindelof, so there could also be some sort of player swap to be negotiated with the Toffees. Lindelof is valued at €15m (£12.5m) by Transfermarkt.
