King Charles remembers Prince Philip in moving Father’s Day message

After a busy day participating in Trooping the Color, The King took to social media on Sunday to share a meaningful Father’s Day message.

King Charles shared a video with several different clips of the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, playing with him as a baby and toddler. Clips include a proud Prince Philip holding Charles and pushing him in a pram when he was a baby, playing with him, visiting him at school when he was older, watching the Highland Games together and sailing with him, among others clips. A young Princess Anne also appears, as does Princess Elizabeth of the time.

One particularly poignant clip showed Prince Philip and King George VI with a very young Prince Charles.

The video was shared with a touching caption:

We wish all dads and those who might be missing their parents today a relaxing Father’s Day.

Prince Philip died on April 9, 2021 at the age of 99. He was the longest-serving royal consort in history and carried out more than 22,000 engagements on behalf of the Crown before retiring at 96.
