Elden Ring Director Hidetaka Miyazaki May Consider Full Co-Op from Start to Finish in Future FromSoftware Games

FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki said the studio might consider including “full cooperation from start to finish” in future games.

Elden Ring’s cooperative summoning system can be a lifesaver for those who need a little help taking down a troublesome boss. However, its design leaves some pretty significant obstacles for players hoping to enjoy a lasting cooperative experience. For example, players are returned to their own World Runebow in hand the moment the zone boss is defeated, or as soon as they unceremoniously bite the dust. Summoning also prevents you from riding your trusty horse Torrent, which can make Elden Ring’s vast open world feel a bit Also expansive on occasion.

To get around these limitations, the Elden Ring modding community created the seamless co-op mod for the PC version of the game, which theoretically allows a group of up to five tarnished to complete the entire game, from tutorial to conclusion, in a single uninterrupted session. This is a fairly significant overhaul of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring co-op experience, removing the fog walls that usually restrict a party’s movement, while ensuring that the death of a boss or a player will not return your compatriots to their respective worlds. .

In a recent interview with PC Gamer ahead of this month’s launch of Elden Ring’s first and only DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, Miyazaki revealed that he has no hard feelings about the unauthorized multiplayer overhaul or its burgeoning popularity.

“It’s definitely not something we actively oppose or want to downplay, because we want to experience the whole game together,” Miyazaki explained. “When it came to Elden Ring, it was just about wanting a more casual, casual style: go in, defeat a boss, quit. It doesn’t put any technical restrictions on the player, just sort. It allows them to finish that concentration and then move on, so to speak.

During the interview, Miyazaki revealed that FromSoftware might consider taking a more holistic approach to cooperative play in later titles, which would prove to be a popular move among the more than 3.7 million PC gamers who have already downloaded the unofficial mod. “That doesn’t mean we won’t consider other ways, like you and your friend, to play, from start to finish, in full cooperation – that doesn’t mean we won’t consider such ideas with our future games”, declared the President of FromSoftware.

Shadow of the Erdtree is set to expand on Miquella’s story and introduce a host of new enemies, bosses, weapons and combat styles to FromSoftware’s hit RPG when it releases on June 21.
