NBA Player Props: Mavericks best bets for Game 5 of the 2024 Finals vs. Celtics

The Dallas Mavericks avoided a sweep in the 2024 NBA Finals with a massive win over the Boston Celtics in Game 4, but will now have to hit the road to keep the game alive for at least one more game. Dallas has won a road game in every series of these postseasons except the Finals, so there’s a good opportunity Monday night to continue that streak.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite Mavericks player props for Game 5, with odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Luka Doncic less than 7.5 assists (+120)

Doncic went below that line in three of four games, including Game 4 where Dallas players were hitting shots at a much higher rate. These same players are likely to struggle on the road, which means fewer chances for Doncic to rack up assists. The Mavericks’ star guard has continued to shoot at an insane rate and that’s unlikely to change. The Celtics have generally been successful in limiting assists in this series and should continue to contain Doncic on that front Monday night.

Kyrie Irving under 23.5 points (-102)

We all know about Irving’s struggles in Boston. He only had 28 points in the first two games at TD Garden, shooting less than 40 percent from the floor in both games. Irving bounced back offensively in Games 3 and 4, but returning to a hostile road environment will likely cause him even more problems. It’s hard to say exactly what goes wrong for Irving every time he plays in Boston, but he’s been mediocre offensively in this building as a member of the road team for so long that it’s hard to say. ‘attribute this to natural fluctuations in firing. I’m going to take the underside on his points tonight.

Daniel Gafford on 4.5 rebounds (+114)

Dallas’ starting big man only crossed that line once in the Finals, recording nine rebounds in Game 2. This was the only series where the Mavericks didn’t get a strong rebounding performance from Gafford, as he was getting past that line quite well. easily in previous playoffs. Even though the Celtics should be better in front of the glass at home, the Mavericks know they will need a big effort there to stay in the series. I think Gafford is more aggressive on the boards and should overcome what is a relatively low prop line for a starting center.
