Man arrested inside Choffin pleads guilty, sentenced to probation

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man arrested by police inside the Choffin Career and Technical Center earlier this year was sentenced to probation in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Anthony Donofrio upheld the sentencing recommendation for John Oramas, 60, who pleaded guilty to charges of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and theft, a first-degree misdemeanor.


Oramas was found shortly after 11 p.m. on April 30 inside the building at 200 E. Wood St. by officers checking an alarm call.

According to reports, when police stopped, they found an unlocked front door and Oramas sitting on a bench in the dark of the cafeteria with whipped cream on his hands and lips and various foods around him. him.

According to reports, when police asked Oramas why he was there, he responded that he was “just taking a break.”

Police viewed video footage and saw Oramas taking the food out of the kitchen, according to reports.

Oramas has been in the Mahoning County Jail since his arrest.
