We now know when the Newcastle-Brentford Carabao Cup quarter-final will be played.

An official club announcement (see below) on Wednesday afternoon revealing the news.

For a place in the semi-finals, Newcastle will play Brentford on Wednesday, December 18 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports+.

‘A date has been set for Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Brentford.

Defeating the Magpies Chelsea 2-0 saw them book their place in the last eight of the competition for the third year in a row, having previously beaten Nottingham Forest and AFC Wimbledon in the second and third rounds respectively.

They will now face the Bees Sint-Jacobspark for a place in the two-legged semi-final, with that match now confirmed for 7:45pm GMT on Wednesday 18 December.

The match will also be broadcast live on Sky Sports+.
