Razorbug forces Arkadelphia to stop to deliver her diploma

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Razorbug is coming off the University of Arkansas campus and visiting several cities as part of a tour celebrating students who have successfully completed their online education.

The Razorbug is a converted red Volkswagen Beetle that sports a razor-sharp snout, tail, and spine. It has been used for recruiting and special events since 2005.

At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, JoAnn Vann will receive her Master of Science degree in Agriculture and Extension at the Clark County Cooperative Service in Arkadelphia. Vann, the Clark County Family and Consumer Sciences Extension agent, is one of several Arkansas graduates who will receive a degree through the Razorbug.

Faculty members in full regalia will join stops in western and southern Arkansas.

Other stops this week include Russellville, Nashville, Camden, Magnolia, El Dorado and Little Rock.

This week’s Razorbug Degree Tour marks the third consecutive year of the tour delivering mentored diplomas to Arkansans who studied online while living and working in their hometowns. The 2023 tour covered 2,250 miles.
