Rush hour traffic increases after an accident on a busy dual carriageway.

The coast of the A2 is partially blocked between the A2260 Southfleet Road and the A227 Wrotham Road and Tollgate Services in Gravesend.

This will affect traffic heading to Ebbsfleet International train station, as well as traffic coming from Dartford Crossing or London.

National Highways posted on social media: “There are currently delays of 45 minutes and approx. 6 mile traffic jam.”

It is not known if anyone was injured in the incident.

A police spokesperson told KentOnline: “Kent Police were called just after 4.50pm to a collision between two vehicles on the A2 coast near Gravesend. Officers are currently at the scene alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
