Gadsden man killed in crash on I-59

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – A Gadsden man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early in the morning of Nov. 6.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) have identified the man as William E. Martin II. He was 47.

He died when the SUV he was driving left the road and struck an unoccupied car before overturning.

Troopers say Martin failed to use his seat belt and was ejected. He died on the spot.

The crash happened on Interstate 59 near the 271 mile marker, about three miles south of Steele, in St. Clair County.
