The Celtics expect to return here.

It’s the future in their minds because that t in the brown iteration, you know, it’s funny, I tweeted that at one point during the game because I was getting ready for the start of the offseason.

NOW.

This has already started at 1201 Eastern.

This started before we started recording this now.

Teams can negotiate with a free agent so this can happen before we wake up.

But it was such a mixing and matching process to find the right pieces around the tatum and brown.

And I was looking back, I saw a note and it’s largely like a stream of consciousness that when I get these phone calls and someone says something, it was the Celtics trying to move the Brogden’s question.

Mark Marcus Smart is accessible, Derek White is the guard they want to keep.

And I don’t think when the Celtics traded Marcus Smart they envisioned Drew Halliday being a part of it, they definitely envisioned Christoper Zingers being a part of it because they very quickly turned around and acquired him from the wizards.

But to me, it really feels like a win from a team-building standpoint that Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown, 100 and seven playoff games together, is the most games for their teammates never before.

They won a title.

And in today’s day and age, it’s so rare that you get that opportunity.

Like we just talked about Ben Simmons and Brandon in England before, like Ben and Joel were supposed to be doing this in Philly BI and Zion was supposed to be doing this in New Orleans and so on.

And this team, you know, there have been calls for them to split up the two J’s.

There was a point before their run at 22 before their run to the final where they were 11th, right?

They had a game under 522 and 23, I think, it was like January and they flipped that switch and they got here if they didn’t, if they did, because remember you the year before 2020 21, they were seven seeds and lost in the first round.

Yeah, there were 500 teams that were swept by the Nets by Kyrie Irving’s Nets by Kyrie Irving’s Nets.

There was a chance it would never happen if that, if they didn’t change the situation.

So you credit the front office, which, you know, at that point, Brad Stevens wasn’t the general manager and the ownership group for footing the bill for this and now it’s going to get very expensive, but they’re going to , I mean, look, everyone is under contract for next season besides Luke Cornett CM and Xavier Tillman, I’m not ready to write this in stone, but I’m pretty confident, tell me David won’t will not return, he was simply traded to Memphis because of imminence for the agency.

Guys at 1.9 million right now, after being in the second round, pick anyone of his caliber, they’re asking for mid tier not saying he’ll get it, but you’ll want a good chunk of that.

Seven plus is not in the cards for Boston and everyone else.

Yeah, and, and he will, he will leave Boston probably in all likelihood and he will, whenever he comes back within the city limits, he will never have to pay for a drink again because of what He made it in game three of the NBA Finals.

Shout out Celtics are going, I think they are actually. are pretty important in this early stuff.

Book eligible for Jason Tatum’s extension who, like he’s going to probably sign it before the show.

No, no, sorry, you can’t sign, you could just start negotiating and you know, the teams are moving towards a deal which, uh, I believe the number is 315 million and I don’t think you’re going to find a single person within the confines of Boston City or certainly within the Celtics organization who wouldn’t jump at the chance to lock this down and have him and Jalen Brown even for a total of over 600 million dollars locked away for the next half decade because, yeah, they’re, they’re your window.

Derek White will also be eligible for extension.

I’m pretty sure he’ll sign this too.

So you look as if the analysis is signed now until 2520.

Like all these guys are going to be signed for at least two more years.

And then Drew is on the player option books until 2728.

As there was, there was a prevailing thought around the league that last summer was the summer to go make your moves before the next CB A was thrown in Boston, did this man like and more because all these teams are going to struggle like you, we I could see someone like Gary Trent Junior, for example, signing what looks like a pretty big contract in Toronto just throwing out a guess, an educated guess for a team just to keep this salary bracket open.

Because if you exceed the limit, you cannot take back more than you can send.

Forget aggregation and everything that happens in the second apron.

So for Boston, having all these guys already in the building and being willing to pay the tax because he won the title.

So, just right.

I mean, I was talking to, uh, I’m going to slaughter Pagliuca pags in the locker room.

He was soaked.

It was like I was talking to someone in a bar at a nightclub on the dance floor.

We were nose to nose.

I just saw, I was asking him about Brad Stevens for something I’d like to work on at some point and these guys are paying the full tax to keep his team together.

So this is just to say that I don’t think there’s a need for more analysis.

This team has won over everyone besides Al Horford, they’re pretty darn young.

All things Considered.

I mean, Drew is 34, but the next oldest guy after that is Pus, 28. Horford, by all accounts, plans to return.

He still has one year left at $9.5 million.

There was a way to retire after lifting this trophy.

I don’t think that will be the case.

So at least for next year, they’ll have this whole group back.
