Tallahassee police are investigating the shooting Tuesday evening

Tallahassee police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex on Tuesday evening.

According to a TPD press release, officers arrived at the ReNew Tallahassee Apartments on West Tharpe Street around 11:16 p.m. There they found a man who had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the complex, but it is unclear at this time what circumstances led to the shooting,” TPD said. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided when more information becomes available, she added.

This incident marks the 55th serious shooting in the capital and province this year. So far in 2024, 21 people have been killed and 44 people have been injured. according to a Tallahassee Democratic analysis of gun violence.
