Tremblay had just turned 9 when the drama, about a young boy held captive in a room with his mother since birth, came out. The film received critical acclaim, and Larson won an Academy Award for her role as a mother.

Although he acted a few years before this film, Bedroom, which was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, gave his career a boost. He won a Critics Choice Award and was nominated for the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor, among many other honors, for his stirring performance as Jack.

Since then, he has appeared in films including The Toxic Avenger, Good boysAnd Wonder, in which he plays a boy with facial differences who goes to public school for the first time. Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson played his parents.

He has also voiced characters in projects such as Lucas and the 2023 version of The little Mermaidwhere he provided the voice of Flounder the fish.

In a January interview with ComingSoon, he was asked where he felt in his career, being both so young and yet a veteran of the acting profession.

“It’s really interesting, because I’m definitely very experienced on set, but I feel like even for the biggest stars in the world, there’s always something to learn,” Tremblay said. “I’m just excited to do future projects. I love playing a bunch of different characters, so I’m excited to see where this takes me and what characters I get to play and research behind the character. I’m really excited for my future.
