Retired Judge’s Daughter Dies in Mysterious Fall; Husband charged with murder |

Lucknow: A 40-year-old woman died after falling from the tenth floor of the Aravali apartment complex in Sector 12 of Vrindavan Yojana on Wednesday evening.
The deceased, Preeti Dwivedi, was the daughter of a retired additional district judge. While her husband claimed she took her own life because she was struggling with mental health issues, her family claimed she was pushed off the balcony.
Preeti lived in the flat with her husband, Ravindra Kumar Dwivedi, a lawyer at a bank, and two sons aged 11 and 3. Police said Preeti fell from the tenth floor around 7.45 pm on Wednesday and died on the spot. Police and forensic team arrived on the scene.
Ravindra alleged that Preeti was receiving treatment for schizophrenia, which adversely affected her mental well-being and led to her committing suicide.
However, Preeti’s father SP Tiwari alleged that his daughter had confided in him about marital issues, alleging abuse by her husband, who was struggling with debts.
Tiwari alleged that Ravindra harassed and insulted Preeti when he tried to intervene.
Tiwari alleged that Ravindra had sent his sons somewhere after Preeti’s death, raising concerns among grieving parents.
SHO, PGI, Ravi Shankar Tripathi said Ravindra had been taken into custody for interrogation. Police recorded statements and the body was sent for autopsy. “We will proceed with a case based on the allegations made by the deceased’s family. The autopsy report will be crucial in clarifying the cause of death,” Tripathi said.
