Heeramandi actor Sharmin Segal was slammed for her schoolgirl remark about her co-star Aditi Rao Hydari.

The actor opened up about how her co-stars, such as Richa Chadha and Aditi Rao Hydari, had the courage to stand up for her amidst all this trolling campaign. She said: “I see that my co-stars are brave people who are stepping up and speaking out in support of me. It’s humbling to know that that’s how they feel about me. Some of them support me. have also reached out personally, but to intervene for me on public platforms, I just want to go hug them… Aditi watches over me, I watch over her… she is one of the people who most actively called, checked in on me and made sure I was ok throughout this month I love her. I have nothing but respect for her.

Sharmin reiterated that she felt happy with her co-stars’ reaction because “things were taken out of context.” Sharmin said she was “very grateful” to her co-stars for being able to do this for her, as people “try to make her out to be a disrespectful person” to her co-stars, or are “arrogant or rude,” which is “not the equation she shared” with any of her co-stars.

Sharmin, whose performance as Alamzeb in Heeramandi garnered mixed reactions from critics and fans, added, “I think it is unfair to judge me or label me as a bad, rude person or disrespectful without knowing me. I think it’s unfair and it bothers me in some ways. To me, a comments section can’t define a person as good or bad because those people don’t know me.

Sharmin also clarified that in an interview, in which she called Aditi Rao Hydari a “schoolgirl”, she was “meant to be a roast”. She added that it was perhaps “a bit aggressive and could have been toned down”, but it was something that was taken “completely out of context” as the equation she shares with Aditi is very different.
