Man killed in crash on Bankhead Highway identified

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A 59-year-old man from Indonesia was killed in a crash in west Birmingham on November 1.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Makhturmino. He does not have a surname that is common for Indonesia.

The crash happened in the 1500 block of Bankhead Highway.

Makhturmino was the driver and the only person in his vehicle involved in the two-vehicle crash. According to authorities, Makhturmino’s vehicle crossed into the opposite lanes and struck another vehicle.

Birmingham police are investigating the accident.
