Man charged in connection with shooting in an apparent love triangle in Hewitt, Texas, early Wednesday morning

HEWITT, TX (KWTX) – Demagio Person, 37, is charged with aggravated assault after a shooting Wednesday morning in front of the Fedex on Alliance Parkway, police confirmed to KWTX.

Officers initially responded to a disturbance call around 7 a.m. Two men were reportedly fighting and fired several shots during the altercation.

One person was armed with a rifle, the other with a handgun, police said.

According to police, the argument was the result of an apparent love triangle in which both men were in a relationship with the same woman.

One of the people involved in the shooting works at FedEx, police said.

Both men were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but have since been released.

Person was the only person charged in the shooting because the other person, the FedEx employee, acted in self-defense, police said.
