Katy Perry announces new single “Woman’s World”

Katy Perry is officially back and ready to “pop” this summer!

The 39-year-old “Firework” singer announced her new single “Woman’s World,” which will be released on July 11 with the music video on July 12. The new track will be the first single from her upcoming sixth studio album, which has yet to be announced.

“Woman’s World” will also be the first time Perry has released music since her fifth studio album. Smile fell in 2020.

Ahead of the new single’s release, Perry shared a snippet of the “sexy” track on TikTok and Instagram while lip-syncing to the track’s lyrics “sexy, confident/so smart/she’s heaven sent/so sweet, so strong “. She wore a white mesh bikini and metal boots, which also feature in the artwork for the new single.

Announcement of Perry’s new single follows her last American Idol appearance on May 19. The “Teenage Dream” singer got emotional during the season finale and hugged fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie while season 22 champ Abi Carter sang “What Was I Made For?” ” by Billie Eilish.

Last February, Perry officially announced the Jimmy Kimmel Live! this season 22 would be his last season as a judge.

“I love Idol so much,” the “Bon Appetit” singer told Kimmel. “It connected me to the heart of America, but I feel like I need to get out and feel that pulse at my own pace.”

Perry joined Idol as a judge alongside Bryan, 47, and Richie, 74, in 2018 when the series was revived on ABC and remained a judge for seven seasons. Perry confirmed that her fellow judges were aware of her impending departure and that they “knew I had some things planned for this year.”

“They thought I had been in the studio for a while, so they thought something was going to happen,” she explained. “I love the show so much but I want to go see the world and maybe bring some new music.”
