Search warrant leads to man’s arrest on multiple drug trafficking charges

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man stopped by police for speeding on the Watterson Expressway was arrested 10 days later on multiple drug trafficking charges.

Louisville Metro Police arrested Na’aman Coleman, 42, of Louisville on Oct. 22.

According to court documents, on Oct. 12, Coleman was cited for going 83 mph in a 55 mph zone. Ten days later, detectives served a search warrant at Coleman’s home in connection with a drug trafficking investigation. According to the citations, Coleman was the primary target of the investigation.

During a search, police found approximately three pounds of meth, more than two pounds of marijuana, more than three ounces of what they suspect is powder cocaine and more than 20 doses of alprazolam. Police also found a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia.

Ten handguns, some of which were loaded with limited ammunition, were also found during the search. One of the guns was stolen from Jennings County, Indiana. Coleman, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms.

LMPD detectives say Coleman’s home was less than 1,000 feet from a school.

Coleman was booked into the Louisville Metro Corrections for three counts of aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance, one count of aggravated trafficking in marijuana, use of restricted ammunition during a crime, receiving a stolen firearm and trafficking in a controlled substance within a radius of 300 meters from a school.
