Benedict for Peace organizes a silent march for peace in commemoration of June 19

With the Juneteenth holiday in mind, a silent peace march marched through Perry Square Wednesday evening.

The marches are organized by the Benedictines for Peace, with the Juneteenth commemoration being the focus of Wednesday’s march, an effort to highlight the work that remains to be done in the quest for justice and freedom.

The Benedictines hope that walking silently, step by step, will help people make their neighborhoods, their cities and their world better for all.
