Dad defends his daughter when his wife tries to stop him from using the bathroom in their house.

As long as the family bathroom is kept clean, everything is fine. But what happens when a family member objects to other people using the toilet? A father, u/AITADE33434, shared on the Reddit community an incident where his wife wanted his daughter to stop using the main bathroom in the house for a strange reason. He explained that he and his wife have been together for three years and live with his 14-year-old daughter from his previous marriage. He also has a 16-year-old stepson who gets along well with his daughter.

“We have two bathrooms in the house. My daughter only uses the smaller one. Since then, it has always been available, unlike the main bathroom that my son-in-law and wife often use,” the post begins . The father then explained that he had received some money and decided to invest it in renovating the small bathroom in the house for his daughter. During this time, she began using the master bathroom as an alternative. “There was no problem until my wife took me aside saying that my daughter was leaving menstrual products in the bathroom and that it was wrong because my stepson would see them” , indicates the message.

When the man asked his wife for clarification, he discovered that his daughter was throwing her used menstrual products into the trash can in the master bathroom. Even though he tried to explain to his wife that there was nothing wrong with it, she decided to let the matter drop, but not before calling him ignorant. “This morning she seemed upset and told me that my stepson came into the bathroom after my daughter came out and probably saw her used towels in the bathroom. J “I asked if she was talking about the trash and it was confirmed. She then told me to ask my daughter to stop using the main bathroom even though the small one is still being renovated. the father continued.

That’s when he lost his temper and told his wife that she was making ridiculous and unreasonable demands of him. He reminded his wife that it was also his daughter’s house and she had nowhere to go if she couldn’t use the master bathroom. “We started arguing until she said she would talk to him, but I told her to stop. She has continued to give me the cold shoulder for hours now, even though my step- son hasn’t said anything about it, as she claims “My wife said she’s trying to be a parent, but I treat her like a stranger to my daughter,” the post adds.

The father admitted that he may have been too harsh in making his wife understand that she was being unreasonable. “My wife is an incredibly private person, but that doesn’t mean she can convince others to follow her. To answer your question: the trash can we have has a lid. It’s a step-in trash can that doesn’t requires no hands. My stepson is “He doesn’t even know what his mother is talking about. He can barely look around, he always has his phone glued to his face and he doesn’t pay attention to anything,” the post concluded. Reddit users sided with the father and supported him for defending her daughter.

He’s going to have to deal with it. There’s nothing wrong with him seeing a box of tampons or napkins.” u/Sfb208 commented: “It doesn’t seem like the son actually has a problem with this, just that his mother thinks it might be a problem for him. That makes this whole situation even more ridiculous.” u/Unlucky-Profession41 added: “She was trying to deal with the wrong child. The girl didn’t leave the used products on the toilet tank or seat. They were in the trash. The woman should use this as a a good teaching moment for his son.”
