LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Authorities are offering a $25,000 reward to help solve a shooting that left a father of three young children paralyzed, Los Angeles police said Thursday.

The crime happened on April 6 around 8:45 p.m. at Alvarado and 7th streets, near MacArthur Park.

The 41-year-old victim noticed two women arguing between his vehicle and a silver Toyota Camry, double parked on the street next to his car.

The man decided to move his vehicle for the safety of his three young children, who were sitting inside, for fear the fight would escalate, police said.

As the man walked toward his vehicle, someone sitting inside the Camry shot him. The Camry then fled the scene, heading north on Alvarado, then east on 7, police said.

The victim, Luis Hernández, was paralyzed as a result of the shooting, police said.

Police are searching for two persons of interest: a 40-year-old man, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. and a 30-year-old woman with black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds, police said.
