Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless review: Sennheiser has built its reputation on offering high-quality audio devices such as earphones and headsets. I have tested a few products from the brands and they have never disappointed in terms of sound quality, active noise cancellation, customization features and much more. After several successful products this year, Sennheiser has announced a new Accentum True Wireless Buds at Rs.19990, which is quite expensive for my liking but it comes with many features that justify the price range.

I tested the Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless for about a week in several scenarios and in my opinion, it has several ups and downs which we will discuss in detail. Find out if the Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless is worth Rs.19990 in this in-depth review.

Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless review: Design

The Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless case and earbuds feature a very compact, sleek and lightweight design. It’s made of an all-plastic material like any other earphone, which doesn’t make it feel heavy or bulky. Although they are lightweight, the Sennheiser Buds offer a sturdy build quality that will protect the device from any physical damage. The heads come in three aesthetic color options: black, blue, and white. I received the black variant which looks quite classy and premium for my liking.

Additionally, Sennheiser also offers silicone tips that the user can change according to their preferences. I chose the smallest tip that fit my ears well and it didn’t move at all during movement unlike the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 that I last reviewed. Therefore, you can easily carry these headphones while walking, jogging, or any physical activity that involves light movements. However, with extended hours of use, you might experience some discomfort due to the plastic construction. On the other hand, through effective earphone adjustment, it was able to cancel out background noise, providing a more immersive listening experience.

Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless review: sound quality, ANC, controls

The Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless offers premium specifications despite launching in the mid-range earphone segment. The earphones feature 7mm TrueResponse dynamic drivers that promise to deliver premium Sennheiser sound and in this segment, they fall short of expectations. I found the sound quality and bass to be quite average compared to other Sennheiser products in the similar price segment. It also offers 24-bit high-resolution audio with LE Audio, providing decent overall sound quality.

The Accentum True Wireless offers connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 and a Qualcomm BT chip that maintains the connection without interruption. It also supports SBC, AAC, LC3 and aptX codecs for high-quality sound. Note, however, that you may experience connectivity issues when the earbuds have a very low battery. The Accentum True Wireless also supports Auracast, but it was not available at the time of my use. Therefore, the company might soon bring out an update for the device to support Auracast.

In terms of controls, the earbuds support touch controls if you want to play/pause audio, manage volume and calls, and much more. One of the features of the touch controls was that users could easily customize the controls through the Sennheiser Smart Control app. It also supports wear detection which automatically pauses sound when one of the earbuds is not in use. Additionally, with the Smart Control app, users can also personalize their listening experience with a 5-band equalizer or simply use the sound check feature that sets the tone of the audio.

When it comes to ANC, it offers exceptional noise cancellation that can easily block out background noise in a busy place. Therefore, you can easily carry the buds when you are outside the house or running. Additionally, users can also customize their transparency levels.

Another disappointing feature of the Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless was its microphone. The mic delivers a distorted or robotic sound when you’re in a windy or crowded area. Therefore, answering calls with these headphones could be tricky, as I always had to unpair them when I had to answer calls due to unclear voice delivery and a huge amount of background noise coming from the microphone.

Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless review: Battery life

The Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless offers 28 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation turned off and up to 6-7 hours of playback with the headphones. In my opinion, the battery life is good and promising, but I still feel like there is room for more given the price range of the headphones. With ANC enabled, the headphones don’t last a day. So you may need to keep the case charged every day to enjoy an uninterrupted audio experience.

Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless review: Verdict

Finally, the Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless comes with several exciting features such as smart touch control, audio customization, ANC and transparency modes, app support and much more. However, improvements are possible in terms of audio quality with high bass. The sound quality is quite average and there are better audio devices available at a very low price. Therefore, in my opinion, the Accentum True Wireless Buds are a hit and a miss in a few areas.
