Rescuers were surprised to discover a corpse preserved in ice, similar to salted mackerel after being called to inject formalin due to odor and bloating. The body was kept on ice for four days.

Yesterday, the Facebook page of Oat Chantra, a rescuer from the Phutthabucha Lansuan Rescue Unit, shared footage of the event. The message included photographs of rescue workers handling a corpse preserved in ice. A family had contacted them, asking for help to inject formalin into the body due to an emerging odor.

Social media users were quick to react, wondering why the body had been preserved in ice like this.

Oat Chantra, a rescue worker from Lansuan, said preserving bodies in ice was a method used 30 to 40 years ago. These days, cold coffins are the norm. Upon receiving the call, the rescue team went to Lansuan district, Chumphon province.

The family informed them that the body had been kept for four days and requested a formalin injection due to the smell. Upon inspection, the body was found to be bloated. The family planned to keep the body for two more nights before the cremation ceremony, Sanook reported.

“The family called us for help because the body started to smell bad. We were shocked to find it preserved in ice, reminiscent of the old methods used decades ago. »

Furthermore, the lifeless body of a two-year-old boy was discovered in a refrigerator in his adoptive parents’ bedroom. An autopsy report revealed that a piece of sticky rice was lodged in the boy’s windpipe, leading to his untimely demise. This observation corroborates the testimonies of his adoptive parents and of a blind man who had fed the child sticky rice.

Separately, the grim discovery of a naked woman, without hands, was made under the Udon Ratthaya highway in Mueang district of Pathum Thani on June 5.
