Anurag Kashyap shocked by actor’s boss charging Rs. 2 lakh per day: Bollywood News

Anurag Kashyap has expressed his astonishment at the exorbitant costs associated with actor entourages in Bollywood. In a recent podcast with Janice Sequeira, the famous filmmaker shared some outrageous demands made by celebrities, highlighting a chef who charged a staggering Rs. 2 lakh per day to prepare meals.

The Chief’s ridiculous accusations

Kashyap recounted his experience with an actor’s personal chef who charged Rs. 2 lakh per day for meals that seemed more bird-friendly. “The most ridiculous demand is that there is a chef who charges Rs. lakh per day to prepare food that looks like…ye khana hai ya bird food. Itna chhota sa aata tha. Health problem ka tha thoda. Main sirf yehi khata hoon (Is it food or bird food? It used to be so small. The actor had a health problem. They claimed it was the only thing they ate),” he said.

Extravagant demands of actors

He also shared an incident where an actor insisted that his driver be sent to a five-star hotel to pick up a specific burger. The driver had to make a six-hour round trip from a remote location, only for the burger to arrive presumably cold. Kashyap slammed the producers for allowing such excessive demands, saying, “It’s the fault of the producers and their agents. I don’t know why the producers allow it on their sets. It doesn’t happen on my sets .”

High costs of hair and makeup artists

The director further commented on the high fees of hair and makeup artists, who charge around Rs. 75,000 per day, which is much more than the technicians. He humorously noted that he might be richer if he were a hair and makeup artist rather than a filmmaker.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui echoes Kashyap’s sentiments

Kashyap’s long-time aide Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared similar views, criticizing unnecessary demands from some actors. “Actors have a lot of unnecessary demands, they want everything lavish. I even heard that some actors have five vanity vans: one for working out, one for cooking, one for eating, washing, practice the text, and so on. Yeah paagalpan hai. Koi paagal hi hoga jo paanch vanity van leke chalta hai (It’s crazy. Only someone crazy can walk around with 5 vanity vans)”, Siddiqui said.
