Latest US Election: ‘If we lose an election, we accept the outcome’ – defeated Kamala Harris to participate in ‘peaceful transfer of power’ | American news

Kamala Harris makes it clear that Americans owe loyalty not to a president or a party, but to the Constitution, to conscience and to God.

“My allegiance to all three is why I am here to say: While I concede this election, I will not concede to the fight that the campaign has fueled,” the vice president said.

‘The fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness and the dignity of all people. Everyone is fighting for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best.

“That’s a fight I will never give up.”

She says she will “never give up the fight for a future where Americans can pursue their dreams, ambitions and aspirations, where the women of America have the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies.”

Gun violence is also a fight Harris says she will never give up, nor “the fight for our democracy, the rule of law, for equal justice, and for the sacred idea that each of us, no matter who we are or where we are, we has certain fundamental rights and freedoms that must be respected and upheld.”

That fight will continue, she tells her supporters.
