Silent auction hosted by Oktoberfest Cares seeking donations

Even though summer is just beginning, the folks at Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest are already gearing up for another bustling event this fall.

To help raise funds for the events surrounding the festival, they are holding an inaugural silent auction.

Funds from the auction will help bring back the Miss Oktoberfest Ball, but with a new image and change in direction, now called the Oktoberfest Cares Gala.

Oktoberfest Cares is a program that supports charitable partners and community festival initiatives.

They are accepting donations for the silent auction until August 25.

Committee members will pick up donations of smaller items, and for larger items like furniture, they will coordinate with the winner to pick up the item directly.

Bidding for the silent auction begins in September.
