Louise Redknapp opens up about being judged amid split from Jamie

Louise Redknapp has admitted she was “shocked” by the level of judgment she faced amid her split from husband Jamie.

The couple split in 2017, and the Eternal singer opened up about it in her new autobiography, You got this: and other things I wish I knew.

During a conversation about The only show she admitted it wasn’t easy going through their divorce in the spotlight.

“I think I was really shocked by the amount of…judgment is maybe the right word,” said the star, who shares two sons with Jamie.

“I didn’t understand why I was judged so harshly.”

“But I understand that people are reporting what’s happening,” she added.

“I’ve been in this industry for a long time and I don’t expect my life to not be talked about.

“It was just scary, it was a scary time.

“I was going through a tough time and I think what I learned was that sometimes you have to have broad shoulders in life and surround yourself with good people and hold your head high and keep going. “

The star said her children and mother were her “saviors” at the time.

Louise was married to football star Jamie for 19 years and spoke last month about the difficulties she faced when their marriage ended.

“I was in central London watching the buses go by and wondering if it wouldn’t be easier for a bus to take me,” the 46-year-old explained in the Mail Sundayit’s you review.

“All I had to do was walk away at the wrong time and it would all be over.”
