Beloved BBC show announces two new cast members ahead of return | Television and radio | Showbiz and TV

Critically acclaimed BBC drama Silent Witness is set to make an exciting comeback next year, with fans eagerly awaiting the introduction of two new faces to the cast.

Actress Maggie Steed and Francesca Mills are ready to join forces with Dr. Emilia Fox’s Nikki Alexander and David Caves’ Jack Hodgson for five gripping new stories, unfolding over ten spellbinding episodes.

Opening with a chilling mystery, the upcoming series begins as the team delves into the baffling murder of an elderly woman discovered in a cave, prompting them to ponder the motivations behind such a gruesome act against a defenseless victim . The arrival of the two lively newcomers promises to shake things up in the lab.

Maggie Steed expressed her excitement about her new role, saying: “I was thrilled to be asked to join Silent Witness. I have enjoyed it many times over the years and it is always the most intriguing and entertaining series been, so it was a great series.” exciting to participate.”

Since its inception in 1996, Silent Witness has captivated viewers with its intense investigations into several murders. The show, created by ex-Nottingham detective Nigel McCrery, has continually left fans wanting more.

Traditionally filmed mainly in London and other British locations, the BBC has now announced plans to move production to the West Midlands, with the aim of providing the show with a wider range of regional voices.

Charlotte Moore BBC Chief Content Officer said: “The BBC is committed to investing in the West Midlands. This plan will create a future-proof skills base in the region that will fundamentally change the landscape and drive the production of high-quality content with the arrival of the hugely popular hit series Silent Witness in 2024.

“I am excited about the greater opportunities this will bring to the region’s creative talent.”
