Juan Soto sends bold message in Yankees home stretch

The New York Yankees are in a rut.

After an 8-1 home loss to the Atlanta Braves in a game more lopsided than the final score would indicate, the Bronx Bombers have lost six of their last eight games. They still have the best record in the majors and surprisingly remain the only team with 50+ wins right now, but they only lead the Baltimore Orioles by a half-game in the AL East.

But according to superstar outfielder Juan Soto, such slumps are simply part of every season.

In a postgame interview, Soto was asked about the struggles of pitcher Carlos Rodon, who allowed eight runs in just 3.2 innings after getting off to a good start this year. He then provided a mature and philosophical answer about the team’s struggles, not just Rodon’s.

“There are going to be ups and downs throughout the year,” Soto said. “Nobody said it would be easy to get through the whole year. Nobody said it would be a cakewalk to the World Series. So we have to fight, we have to take it like a man and forget that, and just keep moving forward.
