Gold Geese announces first children’s fundraising event by the sea

A new seaside fundraiser, ‘Gold Geese Goslings’, is launched to support families in South East Essex battling childhood cancer.

The event, organized by the charity Gold Geese, invites young people aged under 16 to cycle, scooter or walk along the seafront at Joscelyne Beach, near Chalkwell c2c station , Sunday July 21.

Each participant will receive a gift bag, a t-shirt and a medal.

There are two distances depending on the ages of the children: children under 11 will run one mile, older children will run two miles.

Katie Southgate, CEO, said: “This is our first seaside fundraiser and we hope many Goslings will join us on the day, have fun and show their support for the local children who are fighting cancer.”

Gold Geese offers mental health therapy, respite travel, hospital transportation assistance, help with food bills and bereavement support.

Registration for the event is free, via goldgeese.org/join-our-gold-geese-goslings, but the charity encourages as many fundraisers as possible.

The charity is also asking for volunteers to help on the day, and those interested should contact Kathryn at [email protected].
