Sarasota teacher caught selling cocaine

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Sarasota teacher was arrested for selling cocaine on June 17, 2024, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

SCSO reported that Scott Swirles, of Sarasota High School, was arrested on a warrant for two counts of selling cocaine in a specified area and one count of unlawful use of a device Communication.

During an interview with the SCSO Special Investigations Section, Swirles admitted to selling cocaine from his home and said there was still an ounce of cocaine with other narcotics.

With a signed search warrant, SCSO searched Swirles’ home and discovered “quantities of cocaine and other narcotics” and “drug paraphernalia related to the sale of cocaine.”

All evidence was reported to the SCSO Special Investigations Section. Test kits confirmed the presence of cocaine according to the SCSO.

Swirles now faces charges of trafficking cocaine and MDMA.
