Simpsons Fans Celebrate Catch of Three-Eyed Fish in Greenland

Fans react to another event ‘predicted’ by The simpsons.

The show has gained a reputation for featuring fictional events, which eventually come to fruition in real life, including the presidency of Donald Trump, Greta Gerwig’s speech on climate change, and Apple Vision Pro.

The last of The simpsonsThe “predictions” that came true were those of the three-eyed fish Blinky, who appeared in the 1990 episode. Two cars in every garage and three eyes on every fish.

Last week, a Reddit user posted a photo of what appears to be a fish with three eyes – one on top of its head and two on either side. The fish is believed to have been caught off the coast of Greenland.

Fans quickly noticed the connection and took note of the comments to acknowledge it. The Simpsons’its reputation for time travel. One of them wrote: “The Simpsons predictions always come true,” while another wrote, “So this is where Springfield is,” referring to the fictional town in which the series takes place.

Another user wrote: “Hey, a fisherman found Blinky! Taken near the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant,” while another said, “Cue The simpsons theme.”

In the episode, Bart catches Blinky while fishing with Lisa at the Old Fishin’ Hole. The Three-Eyed Mutation is a product of nuclear waste from the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, where Homer works.

Factory owner Mr. Burns, a candidate for governor, claims that Blinky is not a mutant but a rung on the evolutionary ladder, in order to win the election.

When Marge serves Mr. Burns Blinky on a plate for dinner at the Simpsons’ house, he spits out the fish, dooming her campaign and causing her to lose the election.

Elsewhere, another user added to the time travel rumor by posting a photo of an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus dating from around 1186-1069 BC, the illustration of which looks a lot like Marge.
