Nijisanji’s first-ever live concert in North America has been canceled

Nijisanji’s first-ever live concert in North America has been canceled. Anime Expo 2024, which was originally scheduled to hold the NIJISANJI EN SUMMER JAM on July 6 and a live concert, “Welcome to Wonder Wander World,” on July 7, has announced that these two live events will no longer take place.

The press release, originating from Anime Expo’s official website, does not specify exactly why Nijisanji’s live concert was canceled. This is not the first time Nijisanji has withdrawn from a convention. Nijisanji previously canceled an event at OffKai Expo in May, which Vtubers Millie Perfect, Enna Aloutte and Reimu Endou were supposed to attend. The abruptness of this cancellation appears to be the main sticking point, with many people expressing their laments on Twitter.

Nijisanji’s announcement of the cancellation of this first ever live concert follows a number of issues relating to the decline of Nijisanji’s English branch and the sudden departure of one of their talents, Selen Tatsuki.

Although live concerts will no longer take place, the NIJISANJI EN SUMMER JAM will be streamed live for free on the official Nijisanji YouTube channel and according to Anime Expo, full ticket refunds will be offered and processed. Additionally, Nijisanji said he was working on special benefits and offers for people who purchased the tickets as an apology.

Anime Expo will be held July 4-7, 2024 in Los Angeles, California.
