Richard Cook charged with drunken driving; urinates on himself during traffic stop – Scoop: Nashville

Richard Cook, 63, was caught driving under the influence at the intersection of Eatons Creek Road and Old Clarksville Pike on June 24. Officers requested backup during a traffic stop at the intersection. When officers arrived, other officers told them Cook had run a stop sign. When officers made contact with Cook, they immediately noticed signs of intoxication and that Cook had urinated himself. Cook was then asked to exit the vehicle. When he got out, he was unsteady and couldn’t keep his balance without the help of his car. After observing this, officers asked Cook to perform sobriety tests. Cook agreed to take the sobriety tests, but performed poorly on each one. He was therefore taken into custody for driving under the influence.
