Phones: man caught stealing phones |  Coimbatore News

Erode: A man was caught red-handed while trying to steal two mobile phones on the banks of River Bhavani on Monday. Police identified the arrested person as K Divakaran, 27, of Bhavanisagar. Police said a group of nine people from Coimbatore district had come to Anaikarai near Bhavanisagar to bathe in the Bhavani river on Monday around 4 p.m. They had placed their cell phones on the river bed before entering the water. A police officer said, “Some people noticed Divakaran stealing two phones and raised an alarm. Some residents apprehended him and handed him over to the police. He was arrested and the stolen phones, worth 70,000, were recovered from him. He was taken into custody and lodged in Gobichettipalayam sub-jail. A case has been registered.TNN
