Ottawa Escapade: Festival to refund attendees after final night cancelled

Escapade will refund attendees who purchased tickets for the music festival’s final night after heavy rain and thunderstorms forced organizers to cancel the event.

The festival said it was forced to cancel the sold-out party late Sunday afternoon after nearly 24 hours of heavy rain, winds and thunderstorms flooded TD Place, where the stadium hosted some of the most popular DJs in the world.

Organizers say the venue suffered “substantial damage” due to the weather.

In a social media post Tuesday afternoon, the festival said three-day weekend tickets purchased online will receive a refund of one-third of the total ticket price. Sunday single-day tickets purchased online will be fully refunded.

Ticket holders who purchased their tickets online directly through Front Gate Tickets will receive an automatic refund within 30 days to their original payment method. No action is required from ticket holders.

“We completely understand your disappointment and emotions and share your frustration. However, the unpredictable nature of the weather has left us with no choice but to prioritize safety above all else,” the festival said on Instagram.

Anyone who has purchased physical tickets from the promoters is asked to email [email protected] to receive further information.
