Emergency Need in Alabama for All Blood Types, $20+ Gift Cards Available to All Donors

ALABAMA (WHDN) – Blood donations have steadily declined across Alabama and blood consumption has increased sharply, causing blood shortages across the state.

LifeSouth Community Blood Center urges the community to donate as soon as possible and rewards all donors with a $20 e-gift card. Double red blood cell and platelet donors will receive a $40 e-gift card.

Local Alabama hospitals rely on LifeSouth blood donors, and currently they only have a one- to two-day supply statewide.
