A man from Agra goes to the showroom, takes the bike for a test drive and flees with it

A man has been arrested for allegedly fleeing with a motorcycle he had taken on a test drive from a showroom in Agra in Uttar Pradesh. The suspect, identified as Sahil, allegedly used a tea seller as a pawn, claiming the man was his father, to dupe the showroom staff and abscond with the bike.

According to the owner of the showroom, Sahil came to the shop on November 3 with the intention of buying a second-hand racing motorcycle, priced at Rs 1 lakh. After negotiating the price, Sahil promised to return with his father to finalize the deal.

However, Sahil returned shortly afterwards with an older man, whom he introduced as his father. The showroom staff, who were unaware of the ruse, allowed Sahil to take the motorcycle for a test drive. As soon as Sahil was handed the keys, he ran away, leaving the older man in the showroom.

As the hours passed and Sahil did not return, the showroom owner became suspicious and asked the older man about the situation.

To his shock, the older man revealed that he was not Sahil’s father but a tea seller. He explained that Sahil often visited his shop to drink tea and had asked him to accompany him for “important work”, to which he had agreed.

The showroom owner realized that he had been cheated and filed a complaint with the Lohamandi police. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered on November 5 and the police started a search for the suspect.

After a few days of investigation, Sahil was arrested on November 6 and the stolen motorcycle was recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, Sahil told the police that he had always been passionate about motorcycles but could not afford one due to his family’s financial problems. To satisfy his desire for a fast bike, he devised a plan to steal the motorcycle.
