Pierce joined Undisputed host Skip Bayless and Keyshawn Williams on Thursday to discuss the 2024 class.

Sheppard followed in both of his parents’ footsteps during his solid college career with the Kentucky Wildcats.

Her father Jeff played for the Wildcats between 1993 and 1998, while her mother Stacey played for the women’s team.

Jeff was named Most Outstanding Player of the 1998 NCAA Tournament and went on to play in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks.

Bayless reflected on Jeff’s impressive career as the Undisputed panel examined the Rockets’ selection of Reed.

“Sheppard’s bloodlines are pretty strong,” Skip said before Pierce interrupted.

“Is that Sheppard?!” Pierce gasped in response, as Reed’s family dynamic was revealed.

“I know exactly who he is, he was a very good player. »

“No it’s crazy because you couldn’t watch a single game last year without seeing them,” one fan replied on X in response to the exchange.

“Paul shows his research lol,” laughed another.

“Are we supposed to know who Jeff Sheppard is? LOL,” retorted a third.

“I didn’t know that either until last night. I liked his dad’s acting,” added a fourth.

Jeff was in attendance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn when his son was taken off the boards at No. 3 overall.

“I’m so grateful,” an emotional Sheppard told reporters.

What does the new TV deal mean for the NBA?

By Damian Burchardt, Deputy Sports Editor, US Sun.

The new television rights deal promises to be a huge win for NBA players.

The league is set to more than double revenue from its media partners, raking in an estimated $6.9 billion annually, which will inevitably lead to a huge increase in the salary cap in 2025-26.

This will cause the value of players’ contracts to skyrocket.

Projected numbers suggest we could soon see the first $100 million per year deal signed.

Currently, Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown is set to earn the highest single-season salary in NBA history, collecting $65.1 million in 2028-29.

It seems like basketball fans would be on the losing side if the NBA and TNT split up.

Inside the NBA is a unique sports entertainment program, as evidenced by ESPN’s continued failure to come up with its own version of the show in recent years.

The NBA won’t be the same without Kenny and Ernie trying to make sense of Shaq and Chuck’s incessant bickering every Tuesday night.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude, so proud of Reed and of God who has been so good to our family. We are so happy to be here. »

Sheppard averaged 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game last season for Kentucky.

“Just a guy that’s looking to learn, that’s going to do whatever it takes to win,” Reed said after being asked what he would do with the Rockets.

“If it’s not about making threes right away, you have to involve your teammates, whatever it takes to win and be on the field.

“I will do whatever makes the team better.”
