NMDOH Offering Free Back-to-School Vaccines This Summer

LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – Back-to-school vaccinations are offered by the New Mexico Department of Health’s Los Lunas Health Office in July and August. Vaccinations will be free and available to children 18 and under, whether they are patients or insured.

Vaccination clinics will be available to children by appointment only at the Los Lunas Public Health Office (445 Camino Del Rey, SW, Suite A in Los Lunas) on the following dates and times:


  • From Tuesday July 9 to Thursday July 11, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday July 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday-Thursday July 16-18, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday July 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Saturday August 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday August 7 and Thursday August 8, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 August, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

To schedule an appointment or if you have questions, call 505-222-0960. Parents must bring their child’s immunization record and Medicaid or private health insurance card if they have insurance, although vaccinations are provided free of charge to parents. No one will be turned away if they do not have insurance.

People can obtain copies of their children’s immunization records at VaxViewNM.org or contact the New Mexico State Immunization Information System Help Desk at 1-833-882-6454. Help desk hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Callers can leave a voicemail message and receive a callback.
