Selangor prepares a special grant of RM5,000 to help unregistered tree nurseries

SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 (Bernama) — The Selangor government will introduce a special subsidy for unregistered tree nurseries in the state to register services and activities online from December.

State women development and social welfare exco Anfaal Saari said nursery operators would receive a maximum of RM5,000 out of the total allocation of RM400,000 provided through the special grant.

“As of last July, the Unregistered Farms Inspection Committee under the Selangor Social Welfare Department (JKM) revealed that there were 128 unregistered farms operating in Selangor.

“The number has decreased compared to 407 last year and 600 nurseries in 2022 due to the implementation of the credentialing (registration) program,” she said at the closing ceremony of the Selangor 2024 State Nursery Service Advocacy Program here on Thursday (Nov 7). )

Earlier, Anfaal said in her speech at the ceremony that registered daycare operators would receive many benefits, including tax exemptions and special government incentives.

“Similarly, if companies are interested in establishing a corporate social responsibility program (in partnership with a childcare center), registered daycare centers will certainly be their choice,” she said.

Anfaal said about 3,000 farms have been registered with JKM nationwide so far, of which 1,004 are in Selangor.

She said of that number, five areas in the state recorded the highest number of farms, namely Petaling, Hulu Langat, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and Gombak. – Bernama
